CAYUGA AREA PHYSICIANS ALLIANCE (CAPa): Dr. Law is a member of the Cayuga Area Physician Alliance (CAPa). This is a for-profit association of 180+ mixed medical staff physicians in Tompkins County, organized under the domestic business corporation laws of New York State. CAPa is a 50% business partner with Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca in the ownership and management of Cayuga Area Plan, Inc., an Article 44 IPA corporation,and of Cayuga Area Preferred, Inc., a domestic business corporation for commercially insured business.
CLINICAL INTEGRATION: Cayuga Area Plan/Cayuga Area Preferred (CAP) is a collaboration between Cayuga Area Physicians Alliance (CAP-A) and Cayuga Medical Center to provide an integrated health delivery system where patients receive high quality care and achieve optimal health outcomes at an affordable cost. CAP is a physician-led, physician-driven effort combining evidence-based best practices with innovative data collection technology in a way that aligns physicians’ economic incentives and drives improvement in clinical quality. ACCOUNTABLE CARE ORGANIZATION (ACO): Cayuga Area Preferred (CAP) is an ACO. An Accountable Care Organization (ACO) is a collaboration between doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers who come together in partnership with Medicare to provide you with the best possible care. We are a part of 214 primary care physicians, specialty physicians, along with Cayuga Medical Center and its facilities who are dedicated to bringing a system of high quality, coordinated care in our region. The network currently provides services approximately 7,000 Medicare Fee-for-Service beneficiaries located throughout the Tompkins County Area. CAP ACO focuses on three objectives better care for individuals, improving the quality of life with better health for patients, and reducing healthcare costs.
